The Public Information Office (PIO) is a division of the City Manager's Office. It is managed by the Chief Communications Officer, Amelia Hamilton Morris.

The Public Information Office functions as the central resource for all internal and external communications for the City of Des Moines.

Media Relations, City Cable Channel, DMTV- 7, City Source Newsletter and other printed materials, press releases and special events are all coordinated through this office.
